Inspired by the true story of an American soldier during the Korean war who was injected with poison by a native medicine woman. Stanley told me that as he was injected, he felt his balls catch fire as he left his body and viewed the scene from above. The painting depicts his ascent into heaven where he plays saxophone in the New Years eve band at Holiday Inn.
